Originally formed as the Normandale Choral Society, the Bloomington Chorale has performed works as varied as Orff's Carmina Birana and Lauritsen's Lux Aeterna to an original work by Jeffrey Van setting the poetry of Walt Whitman to music. The Chorale had the great pleasure of performing Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzs with the world renouned Elkina Sisters.  The Chorale has performed with the Bloomington Symphony on several occasions, most notably Mahler's 2nd Symphony in May of 2003 in collaboration with other commnity and church choirs.

To more accurately reflect its community base and focus, the group changed its name to the Bloomington Chorale in July 2003, in tandem with the move to the new Bloomington Center for the Arts.  We look forward to many years to come singing to, with and for Bloomington and the surrounding communities.
