2007-2008 Season
We Celebrate 25 Years!
In March of 1982 the Normandale Chorale Society gave its
first performance.
Through the years we have had three directors and more than
600 singers (though not all at the same time), changed our name and moved from Normandale College to the Bloomington Center
for the Arts. All in all, it's been an eventful quarter century.
We're planning a season long birthday party with lots of wonderful music,
fun and a few surprises along the way. Please join us for the celebration.
Our 2007-2008 season begins with our December 15 and 16 Christmas concerts.
We revisit our origins with a reprise of Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria, performed as part of that first concert in
1982, and complete the program with audience and singer holiday favorites from our history.
Our spring concerts will pay homage to David Docter, our founding and
longest tenured director. The program will include selections from Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah. Again
we will round out the program with favorite lighter choral selections from our history. Docter will conduct a piece
and we will invite past members to join us in concluding with Handel's Hallelujah Chorus.
Following our June 1 concert all are invited to a reception in the lobby of
the Center for the Arts.
